This is what i read this morning when I woke up: Panasonic's first DSLR DMC-L1
Well, fuck me. It totally shocked me, and here I thought they (Panasonic & Leica) weren't ready for a DSLR yet, and seems like now they will be annoucing it tomorrow at PMA (photography convention). I still don't know yet how I should react to this news, becausee there are up and down of it.
- Venus Engine III
- a 2.5-inch live LCD
- a 7.5 megapixel "Live MOS" sensor (for reducing power consumption)
- Olympus's Supersonic Wave Filter Dust Reduction System (給 sensor 用的防塵的功能)
- Panasonic's Image Optical Stablizer
Aside from those, the DMC-LA is really a re-badged Olympus' E-330 body. And it uses Leica-branded lenses, according to
Dpreview, it's a lens Leica desinged exclusively for DSLR market. So it doesn't seem like we'll be able to use Leica's super expensive lens. However it doesn't seem like this model will run cheap either. We'll see about that.
