Ong-Bak

I know i'm a little bit late, but I finally had chance to check out Ong-Bak, the thai warrior. For those of you who don't know, it's about a group of gangs stole the legendary God "Ong-Bak head off the statue. Ting, the main character, volunteered to travel to Bang Kok to get it back. And thus his journey begins. The fight scene in the movie is incredible. Tony Jaa (Ting) proves once again a hero doesn't need guns or knifes to become one, as long as you know how to use your elbow and knee to knock your opponet unconscious. The martial arts in the movie is called Muay Thai, and I have to say it's really deadly. I've always had some rough idea on what muay thai is about, but until I see it in action, I woudln't be surprised if somebody rename the movie to "Ong-Bak, the thai killing machine." With repetitve elbow attack on opponent's head..I wonder why nobody really died in the movie, either they want to make it PG-13, or human body's more stronger than I could imagine. The director's shooting style seems rather generic. Can be seen on most of the movie nowadays. But several shot I like could be improved if somebody told director to watch Guy Richie's movie before he started shooting. If you are a fan of old school HK martial art movie, definately check out this movie. Even if you are not, check it out anyway. On a side note, the girl's pretty cute in there.
