Haven't done my anime talk lately, so here is one little review.
朋友說我連看動畫都很怪僻, 不看那些 main stream, 所以介紹我看 Genshiken. 今天看了兩片
Genshiken 的 DVD..and i enjoyed it a lot. It pretty much just talk about the anime/manga fan culture in Japan (
otaku). You see those who doesn't want to admit he's one heck of otaku (probably just like me), their first anime convention..etc. I tent to think it's more of slice of life type of story, and maybe more lean toward documentary with a bit of story.
Character design has more maturity in it, so you can see producers aiming at more mature audience..but at the same time, the bright color they used, the way they play with lighting, individual character design, you can also tell there will be a broader audience attracted to this anime even if they don't know what the story is about. But whether you like the topic of otaku or not..check it out, and see if you are up to par with Japan's otaku.
